We are going to Turkey in May and I am looking to find suitable Insurance, having a good look around and some sites say Europe including Turkey,Switzerland ,and others just say Worldwide ex USA .I know it sounds dumb but i'm pretty sure last time we went Turkey came under Europe ,can someone put me right please.
Susan
Well we have annual insurance and go to Turkey 4-5 times a year and it's always classed as Europe.
Geographically, Turkey isn't in continental europe. However, politically it is and they could enter the european union in the not too distant future. For insurance purposes, Turkey is classed as a european destination. For more information about travel insurance, refer to the Travel Insurance: Advice, Recommendations and Q&As thread on the General Holiday Enquiries, Hints and Tips forum.

Yes, Turkey comes under Europe for insurance purposes.
Thank you all.
I booked a 'family' holiday to Icmeler for Aug. However, my partner and I split up so its just my daughter and I now. SO my question to you all is does anybody know where I can go to get some cheap holiday insurance for a single adult and a 3 year old?
Any help appreciated. I am just worried as I have not got my insurance and I booked last year.
Thanks in advance

http://www.insureandgo.co.uk . Your child will be free
You will want the european cover Ruth . I have an anual policy but you can always get single trip as well. Ive always found them very good . They have a good list of activities included and you can usually add anything else for a couple of quid . We have previously added paragliding and quad biking before we went for I believe £1.94 extra per person .
I have made a couple of claims over the 3 years we have been with them and they paid out no problem .
I also recommend the platinum policy for NIL excess . Its not much more and if you have to make claims for delay etc which is fairly common it will make the difference between receiving money and not when you take into account that the excess will be per person.
also if any family members have any medical conditions, are under a hospital for anything or take medication as with ALL travel insurance these must be declared.

http://www.insureandgo.co.uk and Turkey( and Egypt ) are classed as Europe with them. I do believe some insurance companies put Turkey under world wide though so it's best to check .
We use just make sure you read the small print, and get the cover you need,
when my children were small, i always paid a few pounds extra and got the excess waiver, for peace of mind....
I also have a platinum annual insurance with Insure and Go and my children are free.
