Well went to the local PO this morning,advertising 1.595 which wasn't too far below online rates.
I asked if he had small denomination $$s ~ £130 worth? Yes he said - used his machine,pursed his lips and said that the exchange rate would be 1.51 to the £ -I queried the exchange rate advertised -only valid for purchases over £500!!!
https://www.ramsdensforcash.co.uk/buy-it/travel-money/ i have not tried the on line order service.i usually just walk instore and purchase, our local Ramsdens stores exchange rates vary slightly with each other but have been competitive with other foreign exchanges locally, i have always been able to obtain a few hundred single 1 Dollar bills from them

I have a Ramsdens a couple of miles away...do they have a minimum amount to qualify for the advertised exchange rate?? If not, then I might drop in but don't want to be dissappointed like I was by PO counter clerk!!
i have just phoned my local ramsdens the exchange is 1.6265 she said that rate is for 5-5000 dollars no minimum limit
