travelling with camcorder

hi im planning on taking my camcorder on holiday with me for the first time this year and am not sure if i can take in on as hand luggage ?for some reason i seem to think last year they asked if we had any batteries in our luggage (have no idea why they would want to know that )and now dont know if im allowed to take the battery and camcorder on as hand luggage . any help would be greatly appreciated thanx

Have been away abroad fot the past 9 years and have always taken my camcorder in hand luggage( batteries too) I have never had any problems.

thats great thanx very much .think id just feel it was safer in hand luggage
It will be much safer in your hand luggage ie it wont have 5 other cases on top of it and much less chance of it going missing
Definatley hand luggage!!!!
