Didnt mean how long i meant how much?
Sorry not had much sleep last night the baby has a bad case of chicken pox!!!
Vicky
Just a wee tip for you. Get a "fit to fly" certificate from your doc for the little un with chicken pox. Although they'll have gone by the time you go on holiday, if staff on the flight notice recent chicken pox marks they can refuse to let you fly.
Better to be safe than sorry, I've heard this happen to a few folk on HT.

Thanks catherine i was going to get one of them to be safe, poor little thing is covered from head to foot and really ill
Awww thats a shame Vicky, hope they b*gger off quickly.
we went to a family plus centre in june so am imagining its pretty much the same but with lots of extras. its weird how the tropical is coming up £50 cheaper but think will go with it as can walk over to palace if we want.
once the scabs have scabbed over with chicken pox your doctor will give you a letter to say you can fly. at least he got them now now whilst you were there- he must wwant his own bed and comforts.
any0ne else going on 31st aug - see you there!
Will try that, he is only 1 but our two year old had them last week! He is cleared up but has marks where his spots were, no scabs just scars! We are hoping the little one is in the same state by the 22nd otherwise he is going doctors to let us know what to do!
mcfester I would definately make sure you get a doctors note even if he just has scars/marks as there was a thread on here (HT) earlier in the year where someone was asked to get off the plane and told they couldn't fly cos her little one had chicken pox marks...if you do a search I am sure you will find it, i will try and look for you...but it is best to be safe rather than disapointed hey!!

Thanks Kays clan, doctors for us then!
as far as i know if the dr say you cant fly your insurance will refund what you have paid less the insurance premium, as far as i know they willl settle it with a cheque and you rebook or not its up to you, but i'm no expert
claire
Thanks both, I think some make up is planned for our little one! only joking, I think he will be fine
if the worst comes to the worst and you have to get money back off insurers you could always get a late booking to the p/t a week later cos they still have rooms and going quite alot cheaper i think
hayley
Mary, we thought it was when the last spot scabbed over but our doctor said it was when the scab has fallen off leaving a red mark!
Mcfester, how`s little uns chicken pox, clearing up yet, when do you fly out?
fly out on the 24th, some of the spots scabbing over now but the ones in his mouth are giving him a lot of discomfort. We are going to go what ever now, we reckon he will have healed up as his brother did in the same time. Other than that we will put him in a ski suit with the mask an all!
"
If your child has chickenpox, they may not be allowed to fly during the infectious stage. This is because the air conditioning systems in aeroplane cabins allow germs to circulate easily, and the chickenpox infection can be very dangerous for people with AIDS or a lowered immune system, and pregnant women. Your child should be safe to fly once they are past the infectious stage and the blisters have crusted over, but it's best to check your airline policy first.
You should inform the airline as soon as you have sought medical advice and had the illness diagnosed. It's also important to let your insurer know, to make sure that you will be covered if you have to delay or cancel your holiday or if you need to extend your stay until your child is well enough to fly home."
With this i would suggest to be fair to other passengers if doctors says no to travel you shouldn't as to what the above says. Also with the amount of mossies out there and how many bites your child could get that cause infections on the pox and i wouldn't have thought it would be bearable to spray repellent onto the pox.
Hi, you must have a fitness to fly letter from your doctor to state that the young one is not infectious. My daughter and her family got chucked off a First Choice flight to Turkey back in May and her one year old only had the marks left on his face the spots had scabed over and the scabs gone. They went straight to a doctor who gave them the letter but too late then. They got all the money back from insurance minus the excess and were able to book again to the same place for two days later at a much cheaper price so worked out ok. They were really embarrased and upset at being thrown of the plane, so get your letter to cover you so the same doesn't happen.
Thanks Lady, we will get a letter
i agree get a letter to be on the safe side thats what vicky06 did before she went, they should give you one as chicken pox is contagious before the spots appear and till they scab over and thats about a week later, well thats what the doc told me when 4 of my kids got them
Don't worry mcfester. My little un flew to cyprus when his pox had just scabbed over. No one said a thing about not flying, they just gave him more attention... "ahhh poor little thing!" etc. You'll be fine, have a fab time! xx
Thanks nikkichick, I am sure he would love all the extra attention!
