Finally getting around to giving something back! Thanks for all the help and info.
Booked with Libra and flew with Eurocypria. Flights on time, not a lot of leg room if your tall, food was the norm. Staff were friendly & helpful.
Arranged a taxi through http://www.grabthatcab.com to take us to the hotel (we hate the coach transfers ) All on time and no problems especially when my husband left his 'Jack Bauer man bag' in the taxi! Called them as we were checking in and they came straight back with it. Excellent service.
Didn't do much the first night, watched some football and ate in Il Basilico facing the hotel, the food and service were great.
Other places we ate in over the 2 weeks...
Erato - Lovely
Cheers Bar - Lovely (cash only)
Love Boat - Ok, nothing special
Olympus - Gorgeous! had a lovely meal here and great service
Greenery Pub - again ok, nothing special
Steens - Gorgeous traditional Ulster Frys - yummmm
Kimfoukios Chinese (Pernera) - Fab - we went 3 times
Mikrolimano (facing Golden Coast hotel) - Quite Nice
Nautilus (Pernera) - Fab service and food. ate here twice and drank here most nights
Mr Cod Fish and Chips - yummmy fish & chips
The Bakery on the strip in Protaras - Yummmmmm
Had drinkies in various places in Protaras, mostly in Windmills and Nautilus in Pernera).
My friend had her wedding in the Golden Coast hotel, all went to plan, she was gorgeous. The hotel and the wedding planner from Libra were helpful. Went to Yianna Marie in Protaras afterwards for the reception, the food was ok, the view was good as was the service.
Hired a car for the second week from petsas. Booked a Yaris and got an Astra for the same price. Drove around the island to Famagusta (got lost a few times, a tad scarey as there were no road signs!!), Pafos, Nicosia (mad traffic), Paralimni. Only problem we had was filling the car up before handing back at Larnaca airport, the unmanned 24 petrol station would not accept any of our 4 credit/debit cards! just had to leave the tank near empty and pay the original charge
Some places we visited... Waterpark in Ayia Napa, Archelogiacal (sp?) park in Pafos, Tombs of the kings in Pafos, ST Georges church in Pafos, Pafos gate (Nicosia), Holy Cross church, Ledra Viewing gallery in Nicosia, the cultural centre with the look out over looking famagusta (very helpful), Famagusta, Othellos Tower, Profitia Elias church in Protaras (you were right about the tear jerkers )
We ended up going on the Ayia Trias boat trip (through the Nautilus) twice. It was fab and lots of fun, great value for £9cyp.
All in all had a lovely holiday and my friends wedding was fantastic. Weather was around 30 the whole time, a little overcast the last 2 days but didn't bother us (after 2 weeks I was still white with 2 extra freckles ) If your pale like me, take high factor spf you will need it
Im sure I have forgotten lots, if anyone has any questions just shout
Have posted a review of the Sunrise Beach hotel in the hotels section.

Many thanks Jaime for your report and also review. Really glad that you had a great holiday and the wedding went to plan.
So glad you had a great time, although it was a foregone conclusion!
See what I mean about Petsas. Marvels!
I've no idea what deposit you paid for fuel, but when I filled our hire car up the first time I found the deposit was not OTT, based on what I put in.

Would definately recommend petsas, the lady who dropped the car off was very helpful and also when we went to the Ayia Napa office to arrange the insurance to drive into the north they were the same in there.
We got lost countless times (half the fun), one of the worst trying to find the crossing point into the north. Also what confused us was its not Famagusta on signs but...Ammochostos! Took us a while to figure that one out.
If we went back there is still lots to see and do, would explore the little towns more, pafos more, troodos...the list goes on. Lots to do if you can't or don't like lying in the sun all day.
edwardesm, thanks for your help when I was booking the hire car
We were staying B&B and got taxi to and from Pernera for the first 6 nights. Why do the buses change to every hour after 6pm?! We couldn't time it right, so just paid for a taxi.
HTH people who were asking about budgeting money.
We were there from the 23rd sep for two weeks, was the Pestas office in Penera? We hired a car from Thsiliv travel on the main strip
Ammochostos is the 'new' southern name for Famagusta. The northern name is Gazimagusa.
We paid £35 petrol deposit. When I filled up, putting in around 3/4 of a tank I paid £25. Not that bad, IMO.

edwardesm 'The northern name is Gazimagusa. ' we found that out too when we were lost over the border , think we drive up and down the same street 5 times
