Has anybody stayed in these apts recently? The only review I have found said that there are mainly Germans staying there.
Have got a good price from Direct Holidays for July this year but don't want to book if it is over run by the Germans.
Any replies will be appreciated.
Cheers
John
Stayed there last year. It really depends what your looking for apartment-wise.
I would say every other guest in the apartments was German, & they were virtually all on all-inclusive deals, where as we were room only. This isn't a major problem (what we wanted), until you try to buy a drink or snack, as the staff aren't used to dealing with cash.
However, the apartments themselves are top notch, with a great pool & facilities. The staff are very friendly & helpful, & the Germans aren't that bad. Honest.

Thanks for the reply Drewster. The fact that there are lots of Germans in the apartments doesn't bother me too much (makes a change from all the Brits abroad), however what I am more concerned about are my two boys (aged 10 & 13). For them a large part of the enjoyment of the holiday is making new friends and doing all the "bodding" about together. They also love all the activities during the day ie water polo, table tennis, footie etc.,
So my query should have included "what's it like for kids?" Were there other children there when you were there. Did you have any with you ?
A few more questions -
I can see the apts are right by the coast but how far away is a decent beach?
How far is it to restaurants and bars?
Is the air conditioning controlled from the apt or is it at the "discretion of management"?
That's all for now - would reallty appreciate it if you could let me know anything else that you enjoyed about the apts and the surrounding area
Cheers

We weren't at the Apts much during the day, but any time we were, there was something going on for kids ( & sometimes adults). However all the kids are German, so you might have to get your boys a crash course in holiday German if they want to make friends
. All the staff speak English though. Don't have kids ourselves.
The apartments are right on the coast, but the nearest beach would be the main (only!) one in Santa Eulalia, roughly 10-15 minute walk away. This also applies for bars/ restaurants. The closest bar to you is Noelia, which is the best tapas in town. Also heading away from the town you have Mangos beach bar, which does good grub & is very relaxing during the day.
Regarding the air conditioning, I honestly can't remember
. I don't recall having any problems with the heat in the room, if that's any help.
Honestly, they're top notch apts, & if you're comfortable surrounded by Germans even better. As mentioned earlier, the only problem we had was trying to get food & drink as the staff weren't used to dealing with people not on "all inclusive" deals. It's easily sorted by going else where, but there's times when your sunning yourself by the pool & want a drink.
If you want to know anything else about the apartments or Santa Eulalia, just ask. I've been 5 times & stayed in different apts each year.

Hi, I was just wondering if Drewster could help, I noticed in one of your replies to another member you said you had been to Santa Eulalia 5 times, staying at different apartments each time. Have you stayed at Bahia Santa Eulalia as we are going there at the end of July, they look great on pictures but wondered if you have 1st hand experience of them. Any info. greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sorry mate, never been to that one. However, if I remember correctly you're right in the centre of town, near the sea front.
If you need anymore information on the place, just ask & I'll try & help.

Going to this hotel in July with friends.
Can anyone tell me what the surrounding area is like and if there are any bars, restaurants, entertainment etc. in the immediate vicinity?
Also, does anyone have a link to a map so we can view the location?
Thanks

Hi, there is a bar/restaurant about 300 yards away if you turn right when you exit the hotel. You need to go to the marina or into town for anything really, it's only a 10 to 15 min walk. The hotel is built where they were going to build a residential area but didn't build it. There are other hotels but we walked into the marina or the town. The prices are a little more at the marina but there's a good choice. For restaurants go to Cala st vicent next to the town hall, grat choices here. If you go on google maps keep zooming in on Ibiza then on Santa Eulalia, Tropic Garden is the white 'n' shaped building to the right if the marina.
Thanks gingernick.
Have you stayed here? If so, are there any tips you can pass on about the hotel or the area. Can you tell me how far it is to the nearest beach please.

Hi, the air con is controlled by yourself, we had no probs at all even when we left it on it's lowest setting. As far as the kids go ours made friends with both the Germans & English, language doesn't seemto be a barrier with kids (mine were 11F & 9M). The entertainment is done by the German & Spanish reps, they do it in German, Spanish & English (altogether now, eine zwei drei). You will remember the song! The main beach was a 10-15 min walk, just passed the marina, worth the walk, lovely beach. For a nice meal head for the town hall, here you will find Calle de san vicente a street they close off to traffic and has a great selection of restaurants. A good choice is available at the Marina also.
Only 4 days until we go to the Tropic Gardens now
Does anyone know the e-mail address to the hotel or the hotels website? I would really like to contact them to request a pool view room, but can't find the details anywhere
Please can anyone help at short notice

Hope this helps along with the telphone call.

I hope you get your request. I have just recently come back from the The Tropic Garden and I too requested a pool view but I got a sea view on the outside of the hotel. No complaints though, it was a lovely peaceful view of the sea. Excellent hotel, very clean everywhere. Also got a one bedroom apartment when I paid for a studio.
Cadge16, I wouldn't worry too much about requesting a view, as any room not overlooking the pool, will be overlooking the sea, if I remember correctly.
As stated above, exit the hotel & turn right & you will reach the town in about 10 minutes, where there is the bars at the marina, & quite a few others dotted about the place. Leave the hotel & turn left & in about the same amount of time you can reach Mangos beach bar, which is pretty good for food & relaxation.
Also, any of the surrounding hotels like the Grupotel & Sol seemed quite happy to let us call in & have a drink at their bar/pool.

Drewster, I think you have your left and right mixed up. It is left to the marina/town and right to Mangos !
