As for Lara Beach, then yes, it is where all the ultra AIs' are, some excellent ones and some equally as good in Belek, you can still do the day trips into Antalya, which is well worth a visit.
Don't forget to have a look at other areas too, Kemer and Beldibi have some excellent hotels, and you also have wonderful scenery, which is a bonus. Not as much choice for winter concept hotels though................You have a wealth of hotels to choose from in Lara and Belek, all offer luxury and little extras that make holidays special.
If I were to give you 3 to look at, and consider they would be
Barut Lara............Lara Beach. I have not stayed here, but the reviews for later in the season are some of the best of any hotel.
Xanadu Resort. Belek. A very high quality hotel, and lots of extras included. (Laundry, Private taxi transfers, international branded drinks )
Voyage Belek. Slightly larger hotel, but a lot of good facilities, lots to do, and excellent rooms.
Obviously they will all have gone over to winter concept, and so you will have fewer a la cartes open, and outdoor pools will be closed, but they each have marvellous indoor facilities, so you will have a good time. The good thing about staying in Lara or Belek is short transfer times, and for the most part, good quality, high end accommodation.
Hope this helps.
Stevie, we have been to Turkey (Belek) as late as the 14th November. Lovely and hot during the day- plenty warm enough to sunbathe although limited sunshine hours, couldn't sunbathe much after 3.30pm. The sea was warm but the pools FREEZING!. At night time it was much colder but as all the entertainment was in the hotel it wasn't a problem at all. Some great 5* luxury AI hotels in this area. Lara Beach and Belek are all year round resorts, so there were plenty of people around.
stevieburr,
We also had quite a bit of rain, including powder cuts.
If you are in a big 4/5* you should be fine as these will probably have back up generators. And obviously you may not be going out of the hotel in the evenings - we were in a very small 3* with no english-speaking staff, so tended to go out at night.
The Antalya are is the best part to go in November as the weather stays warmer there for longer and other resorts tend to close down around the end of October. I have only been in Bodrum in November and the weather was nice then, warm in the day but quite chilly in the evenings and the nights get dark early.
