well lets hope you enjoy it as much as we do, i prefer the real turkish resorts, my in laws stay last year for the first time and they loved it too. there are some lovely restaurants ,2 of them have part english owners , kazan restaurants shes married to a turk and food is always lovely, the other one is run by a english woman with a turkish business partner, cant remember the name of that one but again nice food, next to the handbag shop. we also like crystal at the top of akyaka excellent value although its got new owners so not sure what the food is like there now. on the sea front magician bar we love the manager john thats his english name ,turkish name hasan, lovely chap but food not the best, further along is yamur bar that does lovely lunch time snacks. if you like fish there are some boat restaurants along the riverside that sell fish and a few other things so cheap but i havent tried them as we dont eat fish, but look excellent value.
your apt is only about 5-10 walk to the beach downhill, we are a few minutes higher up, if we get too hot and bothered to walk back we get a taxi only 4 lira lol, thats lazy but sometimes when you are loaded with beach things and its hot you cant be bothered to walk lol
the sea is great for kids as very calm and shallow for a long way out and sandy, ellie loved it last year she played for hours in the sea and was 7. turkish older kids would look after her and play with her for hours.
we use the taxi at the top of akyaka the driver we use is zihni and hes lovely
there is a cove around the corner of akyaka thats supposed to be scenic but we havent ventured there yet, there are some boat trips too and a huge outdoor cinema again ive not been there
ive managed to get hold of muammer, i think his emails must have been going to her junk mail as hes replied to me quickly too, hopefully ill go and visit him easter week
ginkster i went last week and looked at these villas but they are apartments not villas, but all looked well and the owners were very friendly, so my freind is definitely booking a villa for 2 weeks need to email muammer and change the villa shes going for the dearer one now we have had a look as it was much nicer inside
October cant come quick enough.
not really we had 3-4 days sunny and 3 days rain, but it wasnt a holiday as such, visiting family, looking for property and at schools etc, so weather wasnt important. we went to akyaka for the day and sat on the beach and had lunch looking at the fabulous views, we found out that one of our favourite restaurants had closed down and the owner has opened a caravan type restaurant at the end of the beach selling snacks like meatballs etc , really good value and scenery to die for, think the meal for 5 of us including drinks was around £12, luckily we picked one of the lovely sunny days to go there
