Turkish Exchange Rate!

Hi,

With the political unrest in Turkey at the moment I have noticed the exchange rate has leaped to 2.722 at the time of writing this. Normally I would not exchange any GBP to YTL until I get to Turkey, but since im not going until June, should I take advantage of the rate and exchange here, does anyone know if it is likley to go up even more?

I would change it now, i go 30th may so i will be changing it now, i got some changed about 1 month ago and it was 2.55 so this is even better

M&S today are selling at 2.635 I got 2.7+ last year.

Good post.
Spreading my bets a bit, I think I'll get £200 worth today and then we'll see what happens next week.
Does anyone know what the shops are offering out in Turkey at the moment?

best rate through the nationwide is 2.72. Thats direct from the ATM here. The change offices are offering 2.65 and the shops much the same.......... I personally don't think it will go any higher as this government is committed to bringing the rate down.

i hope it dont go down i have been waiting to see if it would go up like last year hope chelsea boy not right about goverment wanting it reduced :cry:

i normally get mine from
marks and spencer they seem to be one of the best

Its already started to lower, at the time of typing this the Garanti Bank site shows its at 2.67, still a rather good rate though.

I wonder if anyone who has just got back could tell us what the street rate is at present?

i have noticed that but rate over here is mid 2.5

Yep, just checked the post office, 2.5 it is. I think itll be higher than that street rate in Turkey, someone will confirm the rates im sure.
