Some websites quote the possibility/availability of 70-805 mortages becoming available shorty in Turkey for expats.
The Bill went through Parliament quite a few months ago.
I have contacted the Garanti Bank and they said they would keep me updated - does anyone else have any news.
Naturally this will give another boost to property prices
Pat
pat these are now available euros loans on Turkish property at 5% higher if you are renting the propert though.
have had no word back from the Garanti Bank on this
Who & where is offering the loans and at what rate
If you rent the property do you mean another 5% on top of the mortage rate -
cheers Pat
Dont know about mortgages for foreigners but a Turkish national who wishes to borrow under the 'House Credits' scheme will need a lot of cash to afford the repayments! For example borrowing 55,000 YTL over a period of 10 years works out at paying a monthly 'mortgage' of 840ytl! Quite a bit for your ordinary working Turk! On that calculation you are paying back nearly double what you borrowed.
Dont forget the interest rates are over 20% for borrowers.
