Hi Lazying By The Pool

We bought a lovely mosaic hanging light whilst in Turunc last week which cost us £20. I have seen them in the UK somewhere but at the moment can't remember where!! If all else fails you will just have to book another holiday!! We use night lights in ours and its really pretty.

Hi!

That sound the style!

The one I am after has to be a mains kind (which is why I was reluctant to buy it due to the electricity voltage/wattage etc and being no electric whizz I just knew I would get in a nightmare and probably blow my flat up in the process! :D ) and dangle from the ceiling.

The Pier has some latern tea light holder type things that are a similar style but no actual lights/lightshades!

Oh damn, shall have to book another hols! what a hardship! he he!

Thanks for your help and if you do discover one please let me know! :D

The moral of the story is if you really like something while on hol just buy it, what have you got to lose, only money, you always find away to make it work at home.
They have some really nice things that we just can't get back home,so when you get there next year, hot foot it to the nearest shop with them in.
So you don't make the same mistake again.

Another thought, did you make friends with any of the Turkish people they would prob send you on eover, worth a try

Wise words!

yep you are correct!

In my defence I live on my own so dont like trying to get males to correct my bodges!! Or call in too many favours! he he!

I will carry on looking for something similar but lesson learnt!

Thanks

Does the Pier have them?

I went on their website (but ive not been in store) and they didn't have any glass type lights similar (only tea light type things) but that is exactly the type of shop that would sell them so good thinking!

I will keep my eyes peeled and will find something at some point!
:D

Thank you

Found this gorgeous site, beautiful lights

http://www.orientalrugskilims.com/homedecore/lights.htm

If you cant get it just type into google turkish tea lights

I think I know the lights you mean - they sold them in 2 shops at the bottom of the main drag towards the seafront. One was a shop that sold all kinds of ab fab things (jewelery/ornate boxes/mirrors etc) and the other shop was almost opposite and sold fabrics/cushions etc. I thought the lights looked more Moroccan than Turkish - why don't you try googling Moroccan glass lights.

 Are all these suggestions are only frustrating you more :?: Bet you can't stop thinking about these lights now :!:

Yeah I bet you are really sorry you did not take the plunge and buy, there is a great site of Morrocan lights on Google but so much more expensive
You have got me going now, I want one, never mind will get one when I go next year :P

I think westglam has it! yes they are the kind.

It is really hard to explain as they are not tea light types but the sort that actually hold a proper bulb. And also mosaic so little bits of coloured glass made into a glass shade.

joan, im not too gutted, its more of a thing that is making me laugh as at the time it was shall I? shan't I? he he! :D

The site you gave me was good (as I spied it last week) lights are not exactly what I have in mind.

Im on a mission and probably will end up finding it in one of these weird 'trendy' type markets very close to where I work in London! The light in my bedroom is perfectly fine but just thought it was different. ho hum! :D

Hi John,

thanks for that. Its similar to what I am looking for!

If you click on the lamps section then the light marked LM-003 is similar but the one I am looking for is mosaic glass.

Im going to Greenwich Market in a few weeks, i may find something similar there! :D

You are all so kind trying to help.

I will admit to now saying I do agree with Joan though, if you see something just buy it and then make it work to how you want it when you get home! he he! :D
