There a very good links course at Cruden Bay in Aberdeenshire which has hosted competitions. There are 3 hotels in the village I could recommend - the Red House Hotel, St Olaf and Kilmarnock Arms - all of which are walking distance from the course.

Great golf and excellent hotels at Dalmahoy and Gullane. Although the championshiop courses at both may be too tough for some of your guys, both venues have alternative, easier lay-outs to play over.
