my daughter wants to come to cyprus with us next week, but she wants to come home after one week. will she be able to fly back unaccompanied?
obviously we will put her on plane & she'll get met the other side
or can she get shaparoned (sp?)
anyother info you can give be great
thanks
I think you will find that airlines do not allow under 16's to fly alone. Check with the airline that you are flying with as they may have a different policy.
Some airlines will accept unaccompanied children at 14 (Ryanair for example) but you'll have to check with them individually as it is down to them.
should be fine but do speak to your airline to arrange
It depends on the airline, No UK Charter airline will accept kids under 16 on there own, they must be with an adult.
visiting me, the last time my fifteen year old nephew came he wouldn't let us book the unaccompanied minor service and had no problems travelling on his own.
many years ago, i travelled to the USA on my own. I was 13 years old and my dad put me on the plane at gatwick and i sorted myself out at Minniapolis, getting through customs and then catching another plane that would take me to Montana where i was supposed to be met by the family i was due to stay with. I had no escort and the airline did not chaperone me. It was Northwest Orient ( an american company) and i am certain that this policy would not stand now. ( it was in 1982 that i went)
So, can fly BA alone from 12 years old and easyjet along from 14 years old that is without forms or any permission etc. I know other airlines allow children alone but require documentation etc.

I've booked a flight only for my 16 year old stepson to Cyprus with MyTravel for this coming Sunday.
Airscotland flew my 14 year old son to Athens two years ago. As others have suggested contact the airline
Can anyone tell me which airlines (trip is to Cyprus) do allow 16 year old's to travel?
Cheers,
Jinty
Most charter airlines insist the lead name on a booking is over 18 years old. You should be able to travel alone at 16 on scheduled and low cost airlines.
My 16 year old daughter is in Mallorca at the moment staying with friends of the family and travelled alone on a Jet2 flight . I don't think Jet2 fly to Cyprus (although I have not checked recently so I could be wrong) but I am sure there are other airlines that would allow a 16 year old to travel alone.
I think you will find it is just a case of checking with different airlines that travel to Cyprus and see what their policy is regarding under 18's.

As far as I am aware the only airlines who will let them travel unaccompanied are scheduled airlines.
BA definately provide this service, as I was reading about it in the Newspaper today, apparently last year they took 150,000 people out on their Skyflyer Solo Service. On top of the cost of the tickets there are charges of between 32 and 50 pounds per child.
