I travel to the Netherlands half a dozen times a year for anywhere from a few days to a couple of week each year and miss my good old English Bacon. Over in the Netherlands I can only find Smoked Bacon, even the UnSmoked Bacon has quite a Smoked taste.
I travel by plane but I was wondering if anyone knew the rules about taking uncooked Bacon onboard and the laws for taking it into the Netherlands.
Many thanks all,
Jamie
http://www.thomasgreen.nl. I use the branch in Strasbourg regularly and am delighted with the goods and the high level of customer service offered.
I was trying to get some Haggis for January and by mistake clicked on the Dutch site and they seem to have a lot of places where personal delivery is possible as well as buying from their dutch outlets - sorry I can't remember the details!
They certainly would have good British bacon and could send it to wherever you are in the Netherlands, as long as you contact them ahead of time.
I can only suggest that you look on the internet for an English grocer, a franchise called Thomas Green, under their website I was trying to get some Haggis for January and by mistake clicked on the Dutch site and they seem to have a lot of places where personal delivery is possible as well as buying from their dutch outlets - sorry I can't remember the details!

Anyway thanks for helping I just hope there are easier ways than spending all that!
