As an example he took me to Panjim, waited 3 hours for me brought me back to resort, all for 400 R's
He told me anyone mentioning my name he would do decent prices for with no rip offs!

The taxi drivers in Goa are all the same...out to rip you off. I used a taxi 3 times this year, tuk tuks are cheaper.
Maybe, but this one was good. 400R to Panjim and wait for 3 hours?? i'd say that was no rip off?
In my opinion taxi drivers in Goa are NOT all the same. Many are charging highly inflated prices this season, but there are still some who are not. The trick is to find one of the latter, and take his mobile number so you can call him whenever you need him. And Rs 400 for a round trip to Panjim including waiting time sounds like a good deal to me!
I think it was obvious they just didnt want to take us and spend the evening sat in a queue when they could be earning loads up at the Beach road. We did find a very nice and easy going driver called himself Alfie Moon from the end of the road by the Highland Beach, he took us Ingos first Saturday, he waited two hours and took us back later 300rps. We arranged to go to Mackies next Saturday same price. We were there waiting for him when two other drivers tried to take advantage and undercut him, so we told them he was taking us ,waiting two hours and return for 150rps they didn,t even try to undercut that ha. It seemed to make his night when we told him later.
He is a really nice guy wouldn,t hesitate to use him again.

Anyone have a number for a decent driver? there will be 4 of us going to Baga then Arpora so we would need something a bit bigger than normal I would think. Thanks in advance .......... Andy
http://www.childrenwalkingtall.com/Taxi.htm - If you go to the departures section, it's actually above the arrivals section at the airport there's a good chance you could find a taxi that is returning to Calangute/Candolim etc and as they're returning anyway, you should be able to get a taxi for half the price! :o)
Hope that helps
Got a top tip to help with the airport taxi price list... Hope that helps
