Hi, I am due to go on holiday in 4 weeks with Thomas Cook Signature however at the weekend the lead passenger decided she is 100% no longer coming, as this is so late the cancellation fees were 70% of the total holiday cost so would have been £950 each. Therefore I agreed to pay the lead passenger £500 so that I could at least go on the holiday alone and for her not to cancel it. She therefore went to Thomas cook and signed to say that she consents for me to go alone and that all tickets etc should be sent to me. So I called Thomas cook on Tuesday to just confirm everything and only just this evening have they got back to me with this reply (they have also confirmed that the lead passenger did in fact sign over the holiday);
'Hiya there L,
I am so sorry for the long wait. I have had a response from TC Signature who have informed that due to contractual reasons you are not able to travel on the booking without the lead passenger. Therefore if you did still want to go ahead with the holiday you would have to rebook it in your name.
I have argued this with them but they will not allow you to travel without N. In terms of changing a name, due to the fact that is is so close to departure and the flights have been ticketed they will not allow a name change so it would have to be a complete new booking for a new passenger.
I understand that this may not be the response you are waiting however I can only do what Thomas Cook Signature are allowing me to do.
If you were to cancel today then you would lose 70% of the booking however if you didn't decide to do it today, as of tomorrow it would then go to 90%.

Where do I go from here because the travel agents are not losing out any money whatsoever and I have consent from the lead passenger to go alone, I cannot afford to lose out on £1,300 by not being able to go, plus I've pre booked trips to do whilst I'm on holiday.
Please help on what I can do??
