Yes you can especially in the airport coming home as it is all in dollars.

At todays rate its ......

£50 sterling = $73
£50 sterling = £409 LE (Egyptian)
$73 dollars = £278 LE (Egyptian)

100 LE is a bit less that £8 UK sterling so approx £40 you will get for £50 sterling back on £409 LE
but on the dollars you will only get about 32 - 33 sterling for £278 LE.

So sterling is always best, but if you have them already then use them, but remember that if you change them into LE, you will lose out again.
