Discussions regarding holidays in America and Canada
Steveston (Richmond) has an active, and the largest, fishing fleet in Canada. Just south of Vancouver International Airport, and Vancouver itself, it is a great place for the entire family to visit. Come watch the fishers go about their daily business, while visitors from around the world visit historic sites, shop at our many gift shops, and dine at our various eateries.

I live and work in Steveston, and even as a resident, I keep learning about new things in Steveston almost daily. So, if you want to check into a more relaxing place while visiting the Vancouver area, may I suggest Steveston, which is now part of Richmond, BC, Canada.

For more info, check out http://www.StevestoniVillage.com for everything Steveston.

Cheers,

Yeah, I agree. A cousin of mine working in Steveston also said that there are lots of things to discover there everyday.

Sites we found useful for our recent trip to Vancouver:

* Translink - http://tripplanning.translink.bc.ca/hiwire - Operators of the Vancouver Skytrain and buses - we used their timetables all
the time whilst over there recently.

* Commercial Drive http://www.thedrive.ca/ - were actually staying one block back from the Drive - a brilliant area for eating out.

hello all,
Well, I hope your travel plans went well----Vancouver had so much snow this season. Did you get stuck in Vancouver with all the mess of snow or not?

Even Vancouver Island has been hit with the snow, it happens so seldom that they do not have the proper snow clearing machines or enough of them, to deal with it.

But thanks for all the useful links, I plan to go to Vancouver in the spring.

The Canadian Tourism Commission site isn't working now, Fiona.

Hi Tishtosh,

I selected "For Travellers / Voyageurs",

Then selected language UK

Was then taken to another set of selections that seem to work - just 2 minutes ago.

Browser was Firefox - cannot offer any further advice, sorry

Good luck or perhaps someone else can help out

Thanks, Peter. I've tried Firefox and Chrome, and don't get any option to work.
Ah well, don't you just love technologies foibles, lol?!
