using the phones in Goa

I'm gonna need to phone home to check up on my dog while im in Goa and just wondering do we need to put any code in when we use our mobiles out there? Or just dial the number as normal? I'm hoping to find a public phone box as heard their cheaper and so again - I'll be ringing a mobile number as well as UK land line so wondering how it works and what code I'll need to call a UK mobile and landline - thanks
Hi, your better off using the payphones to call home, cost as little as pennies.
I only use my mobile for sending text messages.
I think you need to press 0044 , then leave the first 0 out , eg , if you want to phone 07777666665 you would dial 00447777666665 , .

I couldn't believe how cheap it was when I rang home, I must have been on the phone for a good 15/20 mins and it was about 65 Rps

Word of warning,I'm not sure all of the metered phones are he same. I called home from a shop near the beach in Baga and about 5 mins cost me 100rps. Called again from the Elephant shop in Candolim (the one next to Guru Jewellers) and about 10mins cost about 20rps
