Anybody who has stayed at the Cidade De Goa will advise you what it is like. Only a small beach, and sometimes you can get a smell of oil/diesel from the passing frieght ships. Whereas as if you stay at Colva you can walk for miles on the beach.
There is very little to walk to in this area. A couple of local restaurants. So you have to get a bus/taxi in Panjim. Miramar beach around the corner is dire, so much garbage beyond belief, certainly not one you would go for a walk on let alone swim. Colva would be a better choice, but try further down the coast in Betalbatim or Benaulim etc. Colva is more grubby than some as the other Southern beaches as it is frequented by more Indians who have no worries about dropping crap everywhere.
Hope this helps.
By the way stayed in Cidade Hotel in early Feb this year.
Thank you very much.I am relieved that i stayed clear of Dona Puala.Hope my choice of 1 week at Velsao and 1 week at Vraca is better.Anybody ever used the villas at Horizon Beach Resort or the villas privately owned at Varca[Whispering Palms]please let me know. Thanks, Katherine
