We are off to Valencia next September, flying from Coventry with ThomsonFly. One thing to remember about Valencia this spring is that two major events will be happening. One is the annual "Fallas" which is their version of Carnival . The other one is the run-up to the Americas Cup races in June. This involves a series of preliminary races lasting at least a couple of months.

Both of these events will impact on the price of accommodation. You will probably find that prices will have gone through the roof. This is the reason we are going there in the autumn instead of the spring, because I could not find reasonably priced apartments or hotels.

I would recommend Seville - lots to see, and with all the orange trees and Moorish architecture it's not hard to imagine yourself a good 300 miles further south! Unfortunately this town has always profitted from tourism so it isn't cheap - but it is worth paying more to stay in the town centre.
