Has anyone been on the MV Van Gogh, my mom is planning a 30 day caribean cruise with Choices for a really good price £999. Mom tried to book the Oct 05 cruise but has been cancelled and they now offer Jan, Feb or Mar. Is the ship any good?

By the way - all cabins are non smoking!!!
Anyone know anything about this ship. I've seen a few adverts and the prices are very cheap.
I believe it features in the Cruise Reviews on this site .... but has mixed fortunes!
I have a friend who was on it and did not enjoy the experience. Apparently the Russian crew were lovely but everything else wasn't. She also swore it had a list and then reading the trip reports on
Can't find anything on this site but thanks for the link. As you both say very mixed reviews, but also very cheap prices.
http://www.travelscope.co.uk They do these cruises.
When I had a look the prices were cheap untill you went into the actual cruise, then the "add ons" were very expensive,
Just take a look at the site, then you will see what I mean.
Also, a lot of the cabins available were with bunk beds.
Regards, Marn.

Have sailed on the Van Gogh twice, had a great time on both occasions, would certainly sail on her again.

To change the subject slightly, what did you think of the Van Gogh please?
The Van Gogh was really great. First cruise we had ever been on and booked the Athena cruise before we got home. The staff couldnt do enough for you and the food is as good as we have ever had in a good restaurant. The ship is a bit bumpy if the sea is rough as it was originally a car ferry so its a bit flat bottomed. If you like small and friendly its hard to imagine anything better.
Thanks for that, will take a closer look at their adverts.
Just read about the virus outbreak on the Van Gogh, doesn't sound too good does it!!!
cheers,
John.

Would appreciate any feedback from anyone who has recently been on the ship with Travelscope.
Thanks.
