Stayed here and to be honest the only thing good about it is the location

Never in the world is this a 4 star hotel !!!!!Butlins in Cyprus would be an ideal name

will do a full report later

1. To say it was built in 2000 it is in need of refurbishment- looks very dated in rooms etc

2. The amount of people who got ear infections was unbelievable( 3 out of our party got them and they had never had them before !!!( pool hygeine?)

3. Rip off prices for drinks / ice creams etc

4. Felt like a flipping German due to lack of sunbeds etc - Most sunbeds had towels on them at 8-00am

5. Entertainment - same tedious warbling etc - was ok at first but same thing all the time as weeks went on

Went to look at Rising Star- seems a lot cleaner /organised than Vangelis so will book there next time

In General Protaras very good with good eating places and like i say will go back but defo not to the Vangelis

I don't know if anyone can help, but I am desperate!

I'm taking my 10 year old son to Vangelis Apartments in April 2009, just to get away with nothing fancy expected. I am now frantic as I only read the reviews after I'd paid for the full holiday! The reviews are really contradicting and I thought maybe someone who had been there recently could tell me how good or bad it really is??

Any info would be appreciated.

Dont panic you will be fine, ive stayed there a few years ago, the location is right in the middle of the strip the apartments were spotless. The pool is really nice and there is plenty for the kids to do. I think block b is next too the road so you can hear the bars etc. Even some of the best hotels in the world have negative reviews

 Don't panic - this will be our 3rd year in a row. Girls are now 13 and 17 - they love the pool and the situation of them is great as stated. Bang in the middle of the strip. And , hey, Block B is not bad either.....believe me. :tup

Thats what i meant, i suppose you see a couple of negative reviews and it puts you off, most hotels have problems with sunbeds being taken and expensive drinks, its obvious with children in the pool that there is a strong chance of ear infections, i always drip a bit of olive oil in the kids ears on the my doctors recommendation this forms a barrier so the water doesnt go right inside, and i also make them wear earplugs.
