Hello everyone, can someone give us advice on the Varlik hotel in icemeler. i believe its a 4* all inclusive hotel but cant seem to find any information on it. If anyone has stayed there or been near it that could give us some help that would be cool. thanks in advance...

I stayed there last year in the first year of going AI. Not that impressed with the food although the pools and rooms were quite nice. Hopefully they might have improved this year, I can only give my opinion on last year.
The hotel is in a good position, right by the beach and shops.

The Varlik Hotel is also known as the Mirage Hotel and changed to AI last year and although I believe they did have some problems then, we stayed there in June this year and had a great time.
The rooms were nicely furnished, cleaned every day and towels and bedding changed frequently.
We are quite fussy eaters but found the food to be delicious and always nicely cooked, although it did seem a bit 'same-ish' by the second week. The pizza and the Turkish pide served at the pool bar in the afternoons was the best I've ever had.
There are two large pools with plenty of sunbeds and parasols. One has a kiddies pool and is quieter, while the other has a water slide and is where the daytime activities take place.
The bar at the front of the hotel is open to the public and after 11pm AI stops and drinks have to be paid for but the pool bar is free for 24 hours and is where the evening entertainment is held.
We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful and the animation team worked very hard at keeping guests entertained.
It is ideally situated near to the beach, bars and restaurants and in a beautiful setting against a backdrop of mountains.
I would definately recommend the Varlik/Mirage as an AI hotel. However, because we enjoyed ourselves so much at the hotel, we did feel that we didn't see enough of the resort. This resulted in us returning to Icmeler earlier this month, when we went S/C and were able to sample some of the many excellent restuarants and entertainment in the bars.
Thank you contrarymary and barb h!...your information was very useful, read the reviews under the mirage and it was pretty much on the fence..Did either of you book with suncatchers and if so was everything ok etc. I understand you fly with unar air ways which is a turkish company are they ok.
No I booked with First Choice last year but looking through their brochure this year does not appear in there.
I know Icmeler on Line do The Mirage.
It was interesting to see that the bar at the front of of the hotel is now allowing guests to drink there free, whereas last year we had to pay, though I believe you could take drinks from the pool bar along there if you wished.
I am pleased the food has improved, it really was grotty last year and I am not that fussy, but we did get a good deal and so was not bothered when we had to eat out, but some other guests were livid and were compalining all the time!
I think if they have ironed all those little things out then go for it,the hotel itself was grreat,

We booked our SC holiday through Icmeler Online, only 2 days before we went and they gave an excellent service. We shall definately book with them again. Take a look at the link, Matt.
We have flown with Onur Air a few times and although they are basic; no inflight entertainment and the meals aren't up to much, there is plenty of leg room, soft drinks are free and our flights with them have always been on time.
Anyway. I hope you soon get your holiday sorted.
hi there - I would second everything that contrarymary says. we had a fab time last may - booked via eclipse very early the previous year on a B+B basis and got A/i at no extra charge when we got there after a few initial hiccups on arrival. I did a review at the time you can find it under mirage either as lyn or lynwestie
