People who are not resident in the UK and who buy equipment such as cameras whilst in the UK were able to claim back the VAT by showing the item and the receipt upon flying out from Heathrow or other British airports once passing through passport control.
Can anyone advise if, in view of the new security arrangements, this is still possible and if the person who is exporting the item needs only to show the invoice / receipt upon passing through passport control as the item will be in the checked baggage.
Thank you
