Hi, i was wondering if anyone knows of any great vegetarian places to eat whilst in Rome?
This will be our first visit to Italy (2 adults and 2 kids) and we are not sure what to expect for vegetarians. I know they obviously serve pasta dishes and i bet these are egg based (which will just have to do), but just seeing if anyone has any knowledge on the foods or any great dishes for me.
Thanks
Rhian
My wife's a veggie too and we had no problems at all. We probably went to around five different restaurants in different areas and all served vegetarian.
Thanks for your reply.
Hey there rhian, most pasta dishes will not have egg unless its egg pasta which it often isnt.
Have a look at http://www.happycow.net for veggie places to eat, not looked up Rome but should list a few places, or find the trip advisor forum and post? sorry not got address to hand.
There are lots of vegetable dishes cooked in olive oil and salads.
Its hard avoiding cheese but if your veggie thats ok - but parmasen has animal rennett in!
Do try the ice cream or sorbet - very yummy!
Have a great time
Alison
Thanks again to all who have helped me in my quest.
