Hi there. The complex is right in the strip great location on the new bit of Albufeira called Areias de Sao Joao.Taxi is about 35 euros one way from the airport, the hill well it depends on your mobility really.
Cost us recently €58 (roughly £40) return from 'old town' to airport.
It has a great pool and grass area for relaxing. As for the beach........it's a nice walk downhill......maybe 20 minutes, so not too far. If you don't have walking difficulties, you will be fine coming back up "cardiac hill". Just take your time and maybe stop off for a little "refreshment" at the top!!!!

the place is excellent loads to do with it being right on the strip.
We have always gone here on a package deal with Thomson/Portland so can't give you any info on the Airport taxi but like Pat says the beach is about 20 mins away with plenty of stop offs there and back
Thanks for all your info. Cannot decide on either Vilanova or Soldoiro apartments. I think the Soldoiro may be nearer the beach but not sure. Thanks anyway.
If my memory serves me right I think the Soldoiro is situated around Cardiac hill so you would have to climb it everytime you wanted to go to the strip. It is nearer the beach downhill but you still have to climb back up.Maybe other members can shed light on Soldioro's location as I could be mistaking it with another name.. Cheers Jayjan
If you want to be nearer the centre of things, I'd go for Vilanova but Soldoiro is nearer the beach.... but you still got the hill!!!

Regarding Taxi transfer to Albufeira. Luis says it is approx 35 euros which is correct, but if you are travelling at weekend there is a supplement on. My hubby got charged 47 euros 3 weeks ago to our house which is approx 2km from Albufeira old town, when he questioned the taxi driver he said there was a supplement for weekends. He normally doesnt use taxis as his Portuguese friend usually picks him up from airport but couldnt as he was working, so beware of the extra fare supplement. Cheers Jayjan
The Soldoroi is half way down (or up for all you pessimists!) cardiac hill. Much closer to the beach and some rooms have sea views. Cardiac Hill is nothing like half as bad as some make out. 5 mins up a fairly steep hill. Its far worse on the way back when a few libations have been taken and those slippy pavements.
Never been to the Soldoroi but walked past it many times en route to the CPO, quite a small pool and pool area from what I remember. I must admit to fancying one of the rooms near the road, although noisy they would have good sea view and great for people watching as people stagger up and down the Hill
Have fun.
Lummie
