Sorry I must have missed your reply, will look for it now.

As Manuela was one of the places I was considering I was only curious as to what you thought of it. :? (As I said I will now look for your post.)

We stayed at these apartments in September and I too was worried about the review. I searched the net and could not find any info on these apartments. However no need to worry, they were very good. Probably the best accommodation we have had. It is a small complex with very friendly owners. The apartments are spacious and clean. We were amazed to find we had a shower cubicle (usually lucky to get a curtain). The room was cleaned regularly. I don't understand what the woman's problem was who posted the review - yes the pool is quite small, but it is a very small complex, the kitchen area was clean, yes the pots and pans had seen better days but who cooks on holiday!! Bitez is a nice resort - no rowdie yobs, the only thing that spoilt it for us was being hassled to go into the restuarants but you get that everywhere (however they are more persistant here, and it does get annoying). If you want to know anything else, please ask. :D

Hi Jenco
Thanks for your comments. I feel a bit more relieved now.
Maybe you can tell me a couple of things.

Location - is it very central. The brochure says 75 yards from sea, but is it in the central area of Bitez or further out? Nearest bar / restaurants?

Plenty sunbeds?

Was it very busy when you were there?

Which restaurants would you recommend ?

Actually, if I ask you anything else theres probably no point in me going to find out for myself!
Thanks
Iain

Hi Iain,
The apartments are situated at the back of the village, but it is only about 5 mins to walk to the beach. The main shopping area is around the mosque and the beach front is one long strip of restaurants. So you have the best of both worlds really as everything is very convenient but the accommodation is secluded and quiet. The main part of the beach is full of sunbeds, there was plenty of room but it was late september when we were there.
We ate at the blue moon several times and the red dragon (Chineze), both of which are on the road behind the beach front. The Red dragon wasn't that good, the service was very slow and it was expensive. Don't know if your into the culture or not, we did the overnight trip to Ephasus and Pamukkale, which we booked in Bitez not through First Choice (it was about £25 dearer with them). Very good trip but not really for kids. If you haven't had a Turkish bath, we would recommend you try one, we went to the Ambrosia Hotel on the beach front in Bitez - must be experienced!
Hope this has helped and have a great holiday.

We were out there in August and it is absolutely superb[if you like Turkey] having been there two years ago aswell. Couldn't get in last year as was fully booked, lots of people book direct with Halil who runs it. So we went to Hisaronu and couldn't wait to get back to Nergiz.
Can't understand that poor review and I can only presume the lady wasn't familiar with Turkish accomodation and was expecting the Ritz. The holiday is always made by the people there and there is nearly always a good crowd at nergiz as lots return year after year.
It is total relaxation if you want it and we generally laze by the pool all day or into Bodrum market [10 mins in Dolmus] or the local water park but best of all, without doubt, is to spend all day out on a boat and you can book your own boat for your group if you want [not too expensive].
You can now sit back, take in a big lungful of air and purr with anticipation because you will have a great time and if you want any further tips about the place ask us when you get there as we have already booked for August 2005!!!! see you there

Thanks for that Ned.

I am really starting to look forward to this holiday now. We fly out on the 22nd August for 2 weeks, will you be there at that time?
Does the apartment complex have plenty of sunbeds for everyone? or is it a 7am fight for those available

What did you think of Hisaronu? We stayed there a few years ago (Hisar Holiday Club).

There are probably only about 25 sunbeds [only 20 or so apartments] but it is rare if they are all in use, sometimes, this year, we were the only people round the pool primarily because the seafront is only a stones throw away and they don't charge for the beach sunbeds so no early morning alarm calls to put your towels out needed.
If you are expecting similar to Hisaronu you will either be disappointed or pleased subject to what type of holiday you want.I found Hisaronu just like Blackpool, full of Brits in football shirts with shaven heads and all pumping music and if you want that in Bitez you will probably have to go into Gumbet or Bodrum [both only 10 mins away] .
Bitez is much quieter and a bit more up market. Yes the seafornt restaurants will all try and drag you in but they will be happy if you stay with them all night drinking ale and several provide some entertainment at the end of your meal. The pace is more relaxed than Hisaronu but there are very few 'bars'.
We will be out there same time as you so better keep this quite anonymous in case, after the first night at the bar, we can't stand each other and you hold me responsible for misleading you if you don't enjoy yourselves.
Last thing, we are going first choice again next year as it worked out cheaper this year and next for the airport we wanted to fly from than booking direct and they are very good but don't book your excursions through them as they are cheaper locally [and much more fun to book what with all the haggling].
Although it won't narrow it down much I will be one of the ones sat at the bar with an 'Efes' and a smile.

one with EFES and a Smile eh?
well that cuts the options down!!

Hisaronu was actually quite quiet when we were there (it was mid September however.)
I am very open minded when it comes to different resorts and enjoyed our holiday in Hisaronu. I wouldnt put it in the Benidorm/Blackpool/(Marmaris) category however.

Anyway its what you do on holiday which makes it memorable and I whilst I didnt particularly like Marmaris it didnt affect having a great holiday there.

"Upmarket" quiet Bitez sounds good to me though and I look forward to some ice cold Efes at the bar........

(your round I believe  )

If poosible, please could somebody tell me the email address for Villa Nergiz Apartments in Bitez. I used the contact form on their website a few weeks ago but didn't have a reply. It would be much appreciated.
