We found it easier getting it through a company. What I can remember they were'nt making it easy,the application had to be dropped off and then picked up on a different day, son in law tried several time's at Manchester and London but we gave up in the end and sent it off with no problem's.

Hi John, I too would recommend getting someone to do it for you if you can; we had a tailor made holiday through China holidays in London and they sorted the visas out and it was much less hassle for us.

see my reply regarding visas, we required a double entry visa to China for Shanghai and Beijing, so used a courier service which was excellent.
