Are you sure ? have you tried getting through Dabolim airport without getting stamped less than 20 times... and thats with the visa in your passport...:rofl ...Keith
Can you imagine the queues if you had to wait for them to issue a visa at the airport in addition to all the other checks, it would take forever to eventually got out the airport.
Yes, that's right, I read the report, and posted on it here. It would never work, they are bad enough just checking your visa (many times) imagine the hassle if it was given on arrival, but the report indicated that the information had come from offical sources, so who knows. The arrival set up is'nt bad now, but a few years ago if you were last off the plane, you had a very long wait indeed, can you imagine the visa queue. Alan
I seem to recall a thread about this previously also. Personally I would prefer to obtain the visa prior to departure, as pointed out here already Dabolim is bad enough as it is, with visa on arrival it would be a complete and utter nightmare

Well the Thais are clueless but at least they know that tourism is very important and therefore make it very easy to get into the country.
Indians however are in a completely different class when it comes to discouraging people to visit.Nowhere in the world makes it harder and more uncomfortable to get into their country.Cannot see it ever working.Hate to be so cynical but many trips to Goa and that horrendous airport experience tells me they just have no clue.
Papa
The Thais have just changed their 30 day free visa to 3 months, don't know how long for but Goa will be loosing out to that one.
When we were leaving Goa for Mumbai and our return home it was pointed out to me by the jet airways check in staff that I had no entry stamp for this year in my passport. On arrival at mumbai I had to report to the Jet airways desk and get them to confirm I was on the flight on new years eve this they did quickly and with a smile. At imigration I explained the situation and gave the guy my passport and the print out from Jet. I then watched him wander from room to room trying to get someone to make a decision on whether to let me return home or detain me for more enquires. This took nearly an hour before someone made a decision.
"Sir, there's a problem with this passport that can only be resolved by slipping me a bunch of rupees".
The current arrangements aren't great but spare us more queuing, stamping and inspecting at Dabolim!
The fact that, currently, Russians are somewhat wealthy tourists might also have had something to do with it also.....
