I meant to put Eurotel Hotel, not Europa! Sorry.
we stayed in Altura a couple of years ago. We walked along the beach to Monte Gordo and it took about 1 hour. You can always rest on the beach. If you walk up to the main road, you can get the bus (takes about 10 mins). We used to walk 1 way and bus the other!!!
Thought you were in Thailand,Pat.
Thank you Pat. How often do the buses run? Do you have any more interesting information to get us even more excited, such as other nice walks and nice restaurants and bars etc.
Can't keep away.......
Lizziebeth, can't remember how often they run but your hotel will have a timetable. Also I think the times are inside the shelters at the bus stop.
The sports bar is good for a drink and the restaurant just up from it (can't remember it's name but is next to snack bar run by Rosie? Anjou) is good too.
Another one is on a street parrallel to these ones but behind them ( again don't remember it's name but excellent food).
If you go on to the beach at the main board walk, there is also a good restaurant there on the right hand side.
Your hotel is right on the beach.
You can also go into Vila Real de Santo Antonio and going the opposite way try my little place, Cabanas (10 mins walk downhill after you get off bus on main road at conceicao) or go further on to Tavira....well worth the visit.
Pat
and do you mean that you own it ?
Pat's in Thailand for a while so, just in case she doesn't come online for a while,I can explain that Cabanas is a small village where Pat holidays a couple of times a year and, no, she doesn't own it ( but rumour has it that she has shares in most of the bars there !! )
...... if you're watching,Pat, hope the holiday is going well.
