Hi,
Wondered if any member could advise me on the best hotel in Feungirola, that has the best star rating and within easy walking distance of shops and bars etc.Bearing in mind that the star rating in Spain is of a very poor rating compared to the UK.For example if I went to a four star hotel in the UK I would expect to be served hand and foot 24 hours a day. With porters to lift my baggage, fresh sheets and towels each day, waiter service at all areas of hotel etc etc.Iam not asking for much,I only want the best.
Hope you can help.
Cheers
The hotel in Fuengirola which in my opinion is the best around is called the Byblos hotel. It is a five star hotel and is situated slightly out of the town on a golf course known as Mijas Golf, which has two courses.
Apparently this is the hotel where Princess Diana stayed and so if it is good enough for royalty!!
I did once ask at the hotel reception if I could view a suite for a romantic three day break for myself and my wife. It was fantastic but I am afraid the price was out of my reach so I took her camping instead!!

If you want to be pampered in five-star luxury "within easy walking distance of shops and bars" Fuengirola's a no-no, I'm afraid.
As much as the Bybloz has hot and cold running servants, it is way out in the sticks, and not at all what you are looking for.
Might La Villa in Marbella fit the bill?

The Thomson hotel Yaramar is the best hotel in this resort. Great rooms, food and staff excellent and right on the beach
We stayed at the Beatriz Palace, a very good 4* and only built last year. We are very 'into' our hotels and rated this one highly.
It is however about 15 mins walk to the centre and not right in the middle of things if thats what you are after though.

If you definatly want fuengirola then I would have to say the yaramar is lovely , it's a Thomson Gold hotel so no bookings (from them at least) with children under 16. It has a first floor pool so very private and some lovely boutique shops underneath (great handbags)!
Yes, I would say the Yaramar....without doubt.

If I wanted to be pampered I wouldn't set foot in Fuengirola or any package tour hotel.
Jacky's being a bit harsh there, as when I was in Fuengirola on the beach a chinese lady walked past me and offered me a chinese back massage for 10 Euro's.
On a serious note Fuengirola doesn't boast the best hotels for pampering etc, but what it does boast is being on the border of Los Boliches, which for me is one of the gems of the Costa Del Sol.

That makes two of us then
If you want pampering in the way of health treatments, then the Don Marco hotel in Torremolinos is definately worth looking at....although the prices could amount to more than the holiday.
I had a look around whilst I was there last month...see the link below.
