Hi
Staying at Hilton in Warwick for weekend in December. Any interesting places to visit, decent pubs to get a meal??
Hope someone can help.
Thanks
Hi you will love Warwick, its about 45 mins from me.
This is a fave place of mine if you like pizza and pasta?
Piccolino's Restaurant
31, Smith St, Warwick, Warwickshire CV34 4JA
Tel: 01926 491020
Sights to see - try this:

The castle is a good place to visit and the town shops are nice. Depending how long you are there for then Stratford upon Avon is full of things to do/see.
For christmas shopping this is good, 15 mins drive from town:

Pub wise not sure of names but you will come across some real olde world style pubs just walking round........
Hope this helps?

If you have wheels - you may want to take yourself to Lowsonford or Lapworth areas - some nice canal side pubs around there too.
More locally, the Saxon Mill on the Coventry Road from Warwick (close to A46 Junction) is under relatively new management and has been getting some excellent reviews recently too for it's food.

Heard that Warwick Castle holds a Frost Fair --what is this exactly??
Stratford is a must for a bit of culture, ride on the canal, a bit of shopping and a Hargen Das ice cream
Nice park for any kids too on the opposite side of the river to the Royal Shakespeare.
Warwick Castle, it's 20 plus years since i've been but go past it alot on the way to my friends in Leamington.
Nice shops in leamington too.

Warwick Castle is a bit of a tourist trap these days, I think it's owned by Madame Tussaud's, but having said that it's still a good day out.
Lloyds No 1 in the marketplace does pub grub and cheap cocktails. We had breakfast there one day, which was freshly cooked and very good and a Sunday lunch which was pretty awful, warmed-up-in-the-microwave type stuff , so be careful what you choose if you eat there.
If you like Thai food, Totally Thai just across the square is excellent.
