Depends on the hotel/apartment, I always take a ball of string and some pegs anyway just in case, always comes in handy if you have a facility already and want some extra line space.

The way we do it is to use the many laundries that are around and they do it all for you. In Icmeler last year a full bag of washing was 20 Lira washed and ironed or 2 Lira for individual items again washed and ironed.
We have stayed in other resorts who do the same. Smalls on balcony are dry in no time.

We also have our done by a laundry service, gets washed and ironed for very reasonable rates.

Thanks everyone for your help, hoping the hotel has a laundry saves any hassle. Does anyone know if it is expensive to get it done in the hotel.

Your Hotel probably wont provide the service directly however they will sort out a laundry service for you. I think 20YTL for a full bag of washing and ironing to be a fairly reasonable cost.

My wife has carried the same piece of string and clothes pegs all over the world .It is the first thing to be packed and there is a rammy if she cant find it ,really handy for small stuff washed at night and usually dry in the morning .

I had a (large) case of washing done last year in Hisaronu "BILLY's LAUNDRY".
He collected it from the hotel, in Olu.
Washed, dried & ironed all - except under, beach & night wear.
Delivered it back £20, which concidering the amount of ironing I though was reasonable.

I did look for one in Turgutreis, but I could only find one. His English wasn't good & my Turkish is even worse. So I couldn't explain I wanted the collect, launder, iron & return service.

We filled the bath with soap & hot water & turned on the jacuzzi  let them soak a bit, turned the jacuzzi on some more  , then rinsed. Needless to say we washed the bare minimum & wore everything twice (except underwear  ).

Essentials in my case are some washing line, pegs and of course scissors.
I tie 1 or 2 lines to the balcony, clothes dry in 5 mins out in that hot sun.

I never do washing on holiday, am I the only one? I say that, I mean if its a hotel or apartment holiday, I did use the washing machine and tumble dryer in Florida as we only took a weeks worth of clothes so we could buy more over there. I never wash anything out, if there is a line I put the swimming costumes on it and if there isnt a line I fling them over the balcony wall lol.

As we usually go for a month, we take our washing to the laundry, who will wash, iron and return to you on hangers.
My husband always takes his shirts, shorts, towels etc at the end of the holiday, saves me a lot of washing when i get back home, they are ready to go for the next time.

True enough joan ,if we were going for a month then it is a good idea to use the laundries, but as we only go for two weeks at a time we find it easier to wash and wear the likes of smalls . Makes you wonder though. We were in belek last September and there was two russian guys who wore the same shorts ,t-shirts and sandals ,breakfast, lunch, dinner and then all day around the pool ,loads of complaints ,and they still diddent bother ,cracked on they did not understand .Aye right.

I don't even take the travel iron any more, all goes to the laundry, and comes back washed and ironed, all I wash is the underwear.

Well worth it :D

We wash T shirts and tops, underwear etc and hang it out to dry. Ironing is not something we bother with too much.

My good lady tore one of her dresses and we found a dressmaker in Side who did a really good repair job, did it in about an hour and charged us practically nothing for it. We doubled her asking price and she was quite overcome.

Another shop had a top on display but not the right size so they made one. That took only a few hours and was very well priced.

We bought a bag of little plastic pegs which we always take on holiday, along with a small clothes line. When the pegs aren't on holiday we use them to seal bags in our freezer.

The laundry is down near the Kleopatra 1, in side st, was not expensive (Icmeler)
