In July 2004 we faxed Apts. Noelia Playa in Puerto de la Cruz Tenerife, after sending countless e mails without getting a reply and RESERVED!!! an apartment for two weeks in January we actually got a reply from the fax and were instructed to transfer our deposit into their bank account, which we did. On arriving at Noelia Playa in January we were told, in a very aggressive tone, that all the apartments were occupied. They acknowledged that we had paid a deposit in July but that didnt matter and the apartments were still full and that they had booked us into a nearby "grubby" hotel, which we declined. We asked for, and were given, our deposit back, less the charges we had to incur for the bank transfer and had to walk the streets of Peurto De La Crux to find alternative accommodation. Beware all on- line bookers. A reservation, sometimes, does not appear to reserve anything and all that matters to some hoteliers is that they have your deposit in their bank account for some months, your holiday being spoilt is not important to them.
