Hello
I'm getting married at the Voyager Beach Hotek in Kenya - has anyone done this or seen a wedding there??? Just curious to know what to expect when I get there??
Thanks in advance
xx
Saw 3 when we were there. They looked lovelyand seemed to get undivided attention by the hotel staff. Didn't actually see the service. The wedding party are escorted around the gardens by African dancers and musicians . In the evening their tables were reserved and decorated with flowers and balloons
we saw 3 weddings when we were there in August. One was a very large Indian wedding which took place on the lawns with massive marquees etc - and all food served outside.
The other 2 smaller were English weddings - as knitter said looked really well organised. One couple was escorted by Masi mari warriors (!) and music etc..I didn't see where they took their vows - I imagine this was either on the lawns or at the front..it seemed you could ask for where you wanted to be. Also near where the sports pool is (high up steps from the beach - they seemed to be a "restaurant " area - (we never went in here - not a public hotel restaurant - so probably just reserved for functions - but brilliant view over the sea etc..) open air - (But roof cover) where one family had their ceremony and the reception - away from the public..so I think there is a lot of leniancy and choice with what you want to do.. - and you are escorted around the grounds etc..
Are you doing a safari - some people we met - who were staying at another hotel (Whitesands) "booked" the masi Warriors we went to see on safari, to be present at their wedding the following Friday !
Both "brides" wore tradional dresses and grooms were in morning dress..
Hope this helps - please contact if I can help furthur - Tina x
...forgot to add..there was a photographer and "wedding co-ordinator" type person present with the couples all the time..
