If you are heading for Queensland or N.S.W bring your brollies. It's the wettest start to a summer for 30 odd years and no sign of it stopping as yet. Many inland areas are flooded and some of the maijor roads are flooded. There have been a lot of accidents and one old man killed when his Ute was washed away while trying to cross a flooded road.
Don't worry though, it's still warm and no white fluffy stuff. We haven't got wet once in 5 weeks, and there's plenty to do.

Hope you're still having a great time! My son is driving down from Byron Bay (i think!) towards Sydney and is really not amused by the weather!!!!
Byron Bay is a beautiful area with fantastic beaches. That's a long drive to Sydney though.
He attended a big meeting with the bosses with a weeks growth and says he was humming! Some of the bosses were as well!
All fine on the Sunshine Coast for the last 2 days, and the rain was late arriving in Adelaide to save the Aussies.
Oh dear, son has said he has driven another 6 hours, and is now 5 hours from Sydney, with 68$ in his pocket The joys of youth eh!! He said he had to pull over yesterday due to the weather. Hope it clears up soon, him and his dad have got a campervan hire from 14th Dec for a couple of weeks to go see the sights!!!
It's ben fine and sunny up on the Fraser Coast today but was forecast for rain down towards Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. When we flew in to Brisbane the clouds were thick from Darwen to the Sunshine Coast and are still hanging around. The folk out here are really glad I turned up and brought my own cloud of doom with me!
Heavy rain today in Woodgate.
we have booked to go camping at Woodgate beach. Not sure if we should cancel..any advice?
It's been a lovely day today, left Woodgate and went into Childers. It was packed out with pensioners drawing their Xmas cash. Have a look at the former bckpackers hostel that got burned out a few years ago. There's a plaque on the wall to commemorate it and another monument in the park opposite.
Thank you!
Just a word of caution, ninnie, if you arrive at night, watch out for the roo's. There are hundreds of them round there. We've driven about 6,000kms and only seen an odd one. There was a family of them in the back garden and another lot to the front, just back from the sea front. At night they leave their brains at home and bounce in front of the cars.
A very nice start to the day today and a lot less humid.
Thanks for the constant updates Parky. We're due in Sydney in 7 weeks time, joining a cruise which will sail up the east coast, stopping at Port Douglas, and onto Darwin. Hopefully the weather will have calmed down by then. Sailed through a Force 7 storm to New Zealand last year and didn't enjoy it very much; me thinks it's time to buy some sea sick pills!!!
You're welcome Rosalyn. We had 65mm of rain here by 3.00pm then it stopped. Another storm came in and we had hailstones for a few seconds, the size of marbles. I'm hoping this stuff is gone by weekend as we're going to Fraser Island - or were! It looks like a trip to the RSL Club, followed by the Bowls Club, ending with a visit to the Surf Club. We'll be heading for Tin Can Bay on Mondat to feed the dolphins - mijght even swim there and save petrol money!
Here's what it was raining like up in Eumundi a few days ago. It had bated a bit when I took this one.
Spent yesterday at Underwater World in Mooloolaba and stayed dry!
Queenslanders airlifted out after torrential rain and flooding
The Foreign Office has requested UK travellers watch its website updates following torrential rain and flooding in Queensland which has seen officials declare a state of emergency.
Some 20 towns have been evacuated in north east Australia, including Bundaberg, the southern approach to the Great Barrier Reef, after Cyclone Tasha brought chaos to the region in the last few days.
All 300 people who live in the town of Theodore were airlifted out to safety and Brisbane has experienced its wettest December in a century and a half.
And there's not going to be a let up any time soon. More torrential rain is forecast for the days to come.
Other towns to be evacuated include Chinchilla, Dalby, Woorabinda and Burnett with the 50,000 resident coastal Rockhampton set to be hit next along with Emerald, home to 15,000 people.
A statement from the Australian Bureau of Meteorology said: "Queenslanders and visitors to the state are being warned to prepare for heavy rain and flooding during the holiday period."

Relatives have driven up from Sydney area to Caloundra and the roads are clear, but water is lapping at the edges of the road in places, but no flooding.
