I have only ever been to Thassos and it was mid-summer and amazing.
This year my holiday is not until the 2nd week in September - i'd like to visit and explore some of the other islands but i'm worried that it is too late in the year for sunbathing and swimming in the sea?
What do you think?
At that time of year sea temps. are near their peak so anywhere in Greece is fine. The weather also should be good and still hot. The Ionian islands might start to see an occasional wet spell around the middle of Sept. if you are unlucky. The further south & east you go the hotter it gets as usual but at the start of Sept. the weather should be fine wherever you choose in Greece
We've been to Kos & Zante at the end of September & had fantastic weather - plenty of sunbathing & swimming.
