Hi there. We live within half an hour of Manchester airport and often do a short break to various places that are 'cheap'
If I lived within half an hour of Luton I would definately do more short weekend breaks to Malta using Ryan air.
Lets say that you get all day Saturday and Sunday and until 2 pm an the Monday, What would your itinery be?
Mine would be:-
Saturday Gozo ........... all of it !
Sunday valletta, Marsaxxlox, Dingli cliffs, Rabat and Mdina
Monday a walk around St Pauls Bay and see a few friends
mmmmmmmmmmmmm run out of time now, will have to come back next weekend
Just thought I'd let you know that BA Connect have return flights on their website for flights in May that are £77.00. Not bad eh! Better sort your weekend day's out!
take a look at british jet for maltese flights from manchester. go look through maltabargains.
BritishJet are not any cheaper than Air Malta or BA Connect after you add on their booking fees! besides even if they were £10-£20.00 cheaper who would you choose to fly with?
Saturday, I would spend the mourning landsailing on the fine sandy beach at Sliema, then in the afternoon I would dive the wrecks from WW11 in the Grand Harbour, and to finish of the night a meal in the Il Meril.
Sunday, get the ferry over to Valletta for a walk along the dry moat out side Valletta and the on to the war rooms from here I would get the bus to Cottonera to walk the lines and sing Jonny Cash songs as I did, if I still had time after this I would have a look round Fort Ricasoli, to finish the night I would go for a meal at one of the restaurants round by St julians Bay.
Monday, I would have to go for a trip by bus to M-dina, well thats the weekend gone again so its of home.
Dave
By the way did I tell you all that we are of to Berlin in Febuary.
My mother and sister used them for the first time in September 2006, they were more expensive than British Airways and the flight was noisy and service bad. It was the last time they will use them, flew for 100GBP (incl tax) return with BA from Gatwick a week ago.
The weekend in between while they were in Malta, there was a 12 hour delay forthe Britishjet aircraft due to a technical failure - go figure.
