We always used to go to Florida at the end of November. This is the cheapest(for hotels) and quietest time as long as you avoid Thanksgiving weekend which I think is around the 26th.Everything is decorated for Christmas and its also one of the driest months.
We have been in January,March and October and November into December has always been the best weather.
My friend went in June and it rained every afternoon for a short time!

The American schools break up for the summer at the end of May, so June is an incredibly busy time. (We have always gone in either April or August and most times it has rained every afternoon. So don't let fear of rain put you off. It may well rain whenever you go. It is a sub-tropical climate, I believe. However fear of crowds might put you off!)

In theory you would be better to wait and go in Sept/Oct, but if it is your honeymoon, then I really think you ought to go on it straight after the wedding. It will just be a holiday if you go months later!

If you go at a busy time, the important thing is to plan your day carefully to avoid queues.Buy the 'Unofficial Guide' and follow his touring plans to the letter and you will not queue for more than a few minutes. Always be there at opening time. It is easy for us Brits to get up early because of the time difference and the parks are pretty empty for the first two hours. Use 'Fastpass' at Disney. Consider staying at a Disney hotel so that you can get early entry to the parks. You can do a lot in that hour before the doors open. (You also get three extra hours in the evening, but that is not so useful because the Americans are awake then so they are all there crowding the place.) Disney hotels have the 'magic' too. The cheapest ones are fine, although the deluxe ones are lovely.

And congratulations on the wedding!

Hi, thanks for very much for your replies. i had a feeling that it was going to be very busy in June!
i like the idea you suggested of still going in june but being clever about when to go to the parks etc.
i definatley prefer that than postponing the honeymoon!

the 'Unofficial Guide' you mention, is this writen by Pam Brandon? Or is it another one?

thanks again!

We have been several times, the quiet time we found was April/May, beautiful weather and quiet parks. The end of June/July and August was rain :( It was hot and sunny in the morning, but thrashing down by 2pm for most of the afternoon, having to wear ponchos all the time wasnt amusing :duh

'Unofficial guide', see here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Unofficial-Guide-Disney-World-Guides/dp/0470285702/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1226853903&sr=8-1 The 'Brits Guide' also mentioned on that page is good too for info, but it is the touring plans in the 'Unofficial guide' that you need!

Just be aware that the Disney parks and Lake Buena Vista area will be very busy 2-8 June when the gay and lesbian community seem to decend on mass to the area. Details can be found at http://www.gaydays.com/.

Some hotels close out to regular customers as large groups of gay's or lesbian's take over whole hotel complexes. Can sometime be a strange sight especially if you are not expecting it or are with the children.
