We are indeed coming to crete (gouves) but in september,it will
be our first time to crete.
Can't wait.
welcome to this friendly forum
I love your name. It will be our first visit to Crete also but we've been to other Greek islands and loved it there. Are you a first timer to Greece? If there's anything specific you need to know, don't hesitate to ask, they're quite a knowledgable bunch on here
But i have heard that and read a lot of posts saying Crete is better i.e the crete Vs Corfu debate lol.
I must admit Arillas will take some beating
We are a family of 4 (2 adults 2 children ages 8&6) we will be staying in the Blue Aegean hotel and have read some fantastic reviews already but any further info on either the hotel or the resort Gouves will be very much appreciated indeed.I suppose the main questions would be: How warm in september? : How much for a family of 4 to eat out? :And also the best places to eat out?
Mnay thanx for any takers in advance
other two trips to greece was to Corfu and Rhodes
We have been to Crete many times but not Gouves, however the friend who recommended Arillas to me went to Gouves last year and thoroughly enjoyed it, she prefers quiet, laid back resorts so I would imagine, like her, you will love the place. As to the weather in September, I think you will find it will be a lot warmer and more settled than Corfu at that time of year, we found the evenings a little chilly in Corfu.
Cheers

12th August will be our first ever visit to Crete. We normally go to Turkey, but fancied somewhere different this year. We are going to the Louis Creta Princess hotel in Malame.
I have a small taverna in Gouves my husband (he is greek) I am scottish. We have been in Gouves for 10 years now. I think you will like it here, we have lots of people who come to Gouves every year as they say it is so relaxing and they go home with many happy thoughts.
Gouves is a small place but plenty of shops and taverns/bars. We have great beachs in gouves very sandy & clean.
Where are you going to be staying.
If there is anything you want to know please feel free to ask me.
The weather in september is still hot & sunny a wee bit cooler at night time.

Mine has been blown out of the water by Sunescapes going bust, so it's back to the drawing board and looking for Crete cheapies now at the end of June.
If anybody meets manos from Hellenic, let us know where he lives.
Somebody said he was a Cretan, but I must have been a cretin for trusting the bloke.
