Not sure if I'm posting this on the right place, but I wanted some advice about where myself, my sister and our two friends could go for a short break.
Ideally we would like somewhere hot, with a beach and some nightlife - we all have young children, so wanted to get away for 2 nights without the kids and relive our youth e.g. lazing in the sunshine by day with a good book and having a great meal and some drinks (and maybe a dance) at night.
We range in age from 28 to 34, so we didn't really want to go somewhere like Magaluf or anywhere very tacky. We're not over the hill, but we're not alcopop drinkers either!
Our ideas were maybe Palma or Barcelona, but are the beaches nice and near? If so where should we stay? If not does anyone have any ideas and can recommend the best places to stay too?

Having visited both these places, I think if I were choosing it would be Barcelona. The beach is good and there are plenty bars of an evening in Las Ramblas, also good for shopping too. We went to Palma and got lost on several occasions, parked the car outside and embassy building and nearly ended up with it clamped, then we went and lost it, so my impressions of Palma are not good.................plus it rained!
Algarve? Albufeira old town may suit.
