helen try akyaka its fab , only 50 mins from dalaman and it has a lovely beach, very turkish, lovely riverside with bars & restaurants etc as well as beach ones, we are going in aug for a laid back hol with scenery to die for, ive put some photos of akyaka in the photo gallery too, have a look at these links

Bodrum, Gumbet, Bitez, Turgetreis all within 1 hour Transfer from Bodrum Airport.

ive been to all those places you have suggested rwb46 we were there a few weeks ago and turgutreis is the nicest out of gumbet,bodrum and bitez, but none are a patch on akyaka, the scenery and beach is by far nicer in akyaka than all of them
