Hubby & I once went to Corfu and stayed in a sleepy spot many, many pre kids years ago and absolutely loved it. Things have obviously changed since then so hoping you can point me in the right direction for a family holiday focussing on our 13 & 15 year old kids.
I'd run a mile from an 18-30s type holiday but the kids would like somewhere they can do more than get a tan and sit with the wrinklies in a taverna. Must have a sandy beach, watersports, and a complex (with a big pool) we'd be happy to stay on for a few days if we didn't fancy going out. Must be able to walk to a good selection of bars & restaurants and to be within easy travelling distance to other resorts.
Too much to ask for in one resort? Any suggestions for resorts or accommodation will be a great help.

HeyMer,

I've read a number of reviews on Sidari and I think it might just be too lively & a bit 'man-made' for me & hubby. Like most parents we've always put our children's preference first, but this time we want to find something with a more even split & with something of a Greek character. On a rating of 1 - 10, 10 being the liveliest resort we're looking for a 5 or 6.

Not so sure about Benitses. A friend holidayed not too far from there this year. Said she wouldn't go back as it was grubby and had a '18-30s Brits abroad' feel to it! It may take a little while to shake off its old image.
But thanks for the suggestion.

Kinopiastii (spelling maybe incorrect) which I would love, but there are nice places on Corfu I love Corfu town full of history the market in the town but entertaining children holidaying there is different than pensioners holidaying there ,I do hope you find a suitable place and have a really good holiday enjoyed by all

If you are looking for lovely sandy beaches and watersports,I don't think you can go far wrong with St George South. It is a family orientated resort with no lager lout types!
The Corfu Plaza is a Thomson Superfamily resort with 2 lovely pools and a 5 minute walk from the beach!!
There are lots of tavernas that serve beautiful food, including authentic pizzerias etc! All bars are child friendly and have quizzes, karaoke and entertainment to suit all ages. There are bars that have pool tables.table tennis, satellite t.v.,and they also show the latest film releases during the day.You can hire jet skis,go parascending/gliding,banana boats, ringos etc and also you can go horseriding!! You can go on boat trips, and if your children like shopping for clothes etc,you cannot beat Corfu Town, especially during the evening!!It is a very magical place!!The people are so friendly and genuine and they go out of their way to ensure that you have a wonderful time there.
I am sure that you will not be disappointed, wherever you choose to go to in Corfu.
Have a lovely holiday, and I look forward to your review when you get back from Corfu!!!
Regards,
Sue
20 years ago myself & hubby stayed in a Corfu resort where there was very little to do but relax and absorb the ambiance. It's still the sort of holiday we enjoy and we're finding it difficult to balance our needs with that of the kids.
Matsui, thanks we're going to have a look at the Corful Plaza.
Thanks everyone, all your suggestions have been helpful. I think we're going to have to take the plunge and if we don't like it, don't go again. But it would be great if I could get it right before we get there.
