Bangkok and Koh Samui would be a great combination.( or Singapore/Koh Samui) September can be a bit awkward for destinations weather wise but those are good combinations.
I think Fiona has probably hit the nail on the head suggesting Bali with a Singapore stopover for some retail therapy. The weather in September is usually good in Bali - not too good in Thailand / Malaysia.
If you like Goa, be sure to have a meal in Little India in Singapore. The fragrance of the spices is something to enjoy!
Good Luck
Peter
Of course- Little India, you would enjoy that! Mind you, I preferred China Town- still China and India in one city, not bad!
ill get some brochures tommorow
Have a look at my trip report- hopefully that will give you a taster of what to expect!
If you are seriously considering Singapore / Bali in September, you may wish to look at this thread http://holidayforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=82701
Good luck

hi again, listening to all above advice, ive got 4 night stop in singapore forwife (shopping) ,then 10 night in bali,at the puri santrian for £1145 each in a beach wing room.is this a good deal,it seams it to me but what do i know.oh,the hotel for singapore is the holiday inn atrium.
The journey back from Bali is long. We did an overnight in Singapore on the way back. We had most of the next day there as well. Perhaps you could look at 3 days on way out and one on way back. Or even the other way round- you would then not have to take all your shopping to Bali and back!
I have had a look at your Singapore hotel. The one big disadvantage is that it is not near the MTR. Taxis are cheap in Singapore but personally I think you are better close to the MTR.
chears fiona,i havent booked yet so i can alter, ill change the singapore hotel also.
whats the mtr fiona?
At night you are in the best area for restaurants and bars - but an easy taxi journey if you want to try somewhere like Raffles or CHIJMES .
However, everyone has their favourites!
thanks again fiona and everyone else
The deal you have doesn't sound bad, bu you have time try another couple of TOs.
Enjoy! (Not long to go)

I'm having a rethink about my Bali hotel. The Kumala Pantai is building an extra 100 rooms and no pool to facilitate the extra 200+ guests... it's just nice now, but it will be a daily bum fight for a spot around the pool.
Also, I've no wish to holiday on a building site as it won't be finished by May/June 07, they have only just demolished the property next door.
So I'm thinking of the newly refurbished Puri Raja in Legian for 9 nights then over to Sanur to relax for 5 nights at the Puri Santrian Club... got a great price from a Balinese agent at $90US per night for the club.
Can anyone tell me just what exactly is a bungalow is at the Puri Santrian? there seems to be different interpretations of what one is in South East Asia. Mine is (because I'm a Pom) a ground floor only room and no upstairs. I'd hate to book one and the bungalow is upstairs lol) The Aussie's call a house a house regardless of whether it's one or two storeys. Any one got a picture of a bungalow? Love to see it if you have.
Cheers Geri
Edit... My apologies I think I should have posted this elsewhere. Please move it if it's in the wrong place. Geri
I'm still undecided what to do... it does depend on whether they will guarantee us a ground floor club or not. This is a milestone wedding anniversary for us so want somewhere nice for a few days.
Cheers Geri
