Hi,
I am thinkin of booking a hotel in sharm for one week on the 25th September, 2009. i have never been before and i have heard lots of mixed things so i want to make sure i book the right hotel.
I am looking at all inclusive at reef oasis bulue bay or baron palms or jaz mirabel.
Please can somebody answer a few specific questions I have?
a) we want for breakfast (ommlette/egg counter) scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage etc?
b) we like this sort of food (salmon, steak, choice of meats and fish, veg, toasted sandwiches, hamburgers, fruit etc)
c) it is better if there is no dress code in the restaurants, we wont go in in bikinis and swim shorts but is smart casual ok?
d) my partner loves going to the gym, on the pictures it doesnt show the gyms. they look like just treadmills, is there free weights and weight machines for men? does anyone have any pictures so i can see for myself?
e) can you go in the steam rooms/jacuzzis or do you have to pay extra?
f) deluxe room or standard?
many thanks in advance. i know its a lot to ask but it costs a lot and i want to make sure i make the right choice.
please tell me which hotel you can recommend.
thank you so much,
Michelle
Virtually all of your requirements can be met in all the hotels, as there are so many in Sharm though , might i suggest you look at those that meet your budget then look at the reviews in the Hotel Review section as it will help you decide, dont be too put off if the odd poor one comes up on a hotel you like as we of course all vary in opinion, but get the overall picture.
For your info myself and my family always go to the Coral Sea Imperial (formerly The Conrad) and i am going back next year for the 5th time ! Hope this helps you choose

Having been twice I can recommend the hilton at Sharks bay . Maybe not 5* but certainly 4 and still remains our favouite choice in Egypt . Never had tummy problems either there which is common place in Egypt .
we want for breakfast (ommlette/egg counter) scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage etc?
cooking station for ommlette, eggs , pancakes and waffles. No bacon . Dont think you would find this in Egypt as it is a muslim country . Sausage . Yes but as is normal in Egypt a frankfurter type .
)) we like this sort of food (salmon, steak, choice of meats and fish, veg, toasted sandwiches, hamburgers, fruit etc
A good selection of food .Cant remember seeing Salmon but certainly plenty of meat . Grilled or within a sauce and normally a fish on offer . Burgers were available in the snack bar/BBQ at lunchtimes .
it is better if there is no dress code in the restaurants, we wont go in in bikinis and swim shorts but is smart casual ok?
Smart casual is fine for main restaurants . No bikinis etc but these are allowed at the outside snack/bbq area lunchtimes.
d) my partner loves going to the gym, on the pictures it doesnt show the gyms. they look like just treadmills, is there free weights and weight machines for men? does anyone have any pictures so i can see for myself?
Free decent air conditioned gym available next to the pool. Cant tell you whats there but my eldest son used it most days . He says it was a good gym and they definately had weight machines . You may be able to find a picture on the hilton website . since we were there last there has been a new part to the hotel opened so there may be another new gym too .
e) can you go in the steam rooms/jacuzzis or do you have to pay extra?
Yes those were free for both . Massage etc was extra .
f) deluxe room or standard?
Yes both available. Not sure if the main tour operators would offer you a selection but you can certainly upgrade if necessary direct. Again if you look at the hilton website it gives details of all room types and various prices.
