Hello all. I'm a frequent visitor to this site but mostly the Goa forum.
I've had this years hoiday but fancy a cheap week all inclusive to Turkey for one week in September. I'll probably be booked from Icelolly.com as their prices seem very good. The main areas listed on their the website are: Dalaman, Antalya, Izmir & Bodrum.
I love the sea and the sand but most the pictures i've seen of Turkey show shingle or pebble beaches. Which areas have normal sandy beaches?
Looking at 5* resorts, any recommendations? Will mostly be staying on site or going for walks. Dont want to spend too much other than the cost of the holiday.
I know the questions are very general but I need a starting point from where I can start learning about Turkey.
Thanks
Side has a nice sandy beach.
we go to akyaka and the beach there is beautiful and sandy but theres no all inclusive hotels there
Thanks for the help so far
The resort is in a spectacular position on a river, and you get a boat to the beach, which we enjoyed as it added another aspect to the holiday, the boat ride in itself is lovely.
The beach is in a conservation area, as it is the breeding ground for loggerhead turtles, so other than a couple of wooden beach bars, there is no building on or around the beach.
You will find many photos on the Internet of Dalyan beach (also known as Turtle or Iztuzu beach) so you can see how lovely it is.
I don't know any AIs there, but I'm sure there are some.
Dalyan is near Dalaman airport.
Dalaman - there are 2 great beaches very close to Dalaman, Sarigerme and Sarsala Beaches
My favourite would be Iztuzu near Dalyan.
Cheers
Martin
