Considering another visit to Malta next January.
The hotels we are looking at are the Riu Seabank in Mellieha Bay. The Riviera Resort in Marfa - we realise that both these hotels are rather remote! The other ones are the San Antonio, Dolmen Resort and the Santana - all of which are in the Qawra/Bugibba area.
Any comments on any of these most welcome - we did stay at the Seabank a few years ago and found the rooms a little tired then - also no sun in the sea view rooms.

We stayed at the San Antonio for Xmas and New Year.Rooms etc were fine but the food(evening meals) was horrendous.Even people who had been there on numerous occasions and had previously had no complaints were now complaining about the food.If you were to stay there i would suggest just going on a b&b basis as brekkie was ok.
we have a similar problem, I have short listed The Dolmen Resort and PArk Lane. We stayed at the Santana last year and were very dissapointed
Have seen a very good deal for the Maritim Antonine in Mellieha - looks great!

The Santana has great food we stayed HB 28Feb to 8th March disabled friendly too
no problems at all rooms cleaned every day staff very friendly
very near the bus station and only a few minutes walk to the sea
Some nice bars nearby (don't go in Hanibals you'll never get out) The Tavern is nice friendly with good food too
lots of other bars that do Kareoke if you can stand it
Good morning madcaravaner, do you mean you won't get out of Hnaibals because the portions are so big ? or that it is also very comfortable or both ?, if so we know what you mean mate, we met some friends up in Qawra once and went for dinner in there must be about 10 years ago, the steaks were massive and realy nice and the bar attached was nice also, all in all we thought Hanibals was an excellent and reasonably priced place to eat and then have a few snifters.

No
The bloke running it now is a total looney tune they get so few customers even from Eastern Block country that anyone who goes in finds it difficult to get out without getting a little ratty with him
Shame that, but yet another reason for us not to go to Qawra/Buggiba.
Hnaibals sounds like my kind a place, must pay a visit soon , anyone trying the Qawra inn hotel then?
No ta very much indeed, the Qawra "Inn" is most certainly "out" in my opinion

There was one thing we noticed one of the Timeshare wally's an oldish woman was actually there when we last visited 15 years ago
Some of those wally's were OK but some of them just didn't like it when you said no my usual trick was
"We bought one Yesterday but not from You"
they had a wonderful expression of depression
Have you tried looking for Intercontinental Malta?
from memory the hotels i prefered were the:
mellieha bay hotel
new dolmen hotel
preluna hotel
often found malta to be expensive to visit compared to other countries, had a look at visiting the 3* qawra palace for 2 weeks AI in late August (31st) for my hooneymoon, it was more expensive than visiting a 5* hotel on the red sea riviera
