The main tourist islands are Sal and Boa Vista due to the beaches I personaly prefer Boa but Sal has a bit more to offer for tourists. Hotels are a matter of personal taste but you cant go wrong with the Riu hotels if you are happy to stay in large complexes.

We have stayed at the Riu Funana on Sal and we thoroughly enjoyed it - we just wanted peace and quiet and that is what we got. Plan on going back - maybe to Boa Vista next time just to compare them.
