I wondered which would be best either getting to costa del sol by getting the flights through flybe i think it is and getting the hotel on a place like ownersdirect, and look up on here(holidaytruths) if the hotel is a good place to go or not? or go into a travel agent and let them do it?
what has people found best, we thought self catering/being near the beach/ shops/ buses/taxis would be good. thanks if anyone can help
Often it depends when you want to come, school holiday times are the most expensive. Sometimes the travel agents offer fantastic deals off season but if you have the time and patience, trawling the internet is usually the cheapest way. A lot of hotels do great discounts off season but the airlines are usually still quite pricey unless you go mid-week to mid-week.
This means in my family (me, my wife and my daughter) we only pay for 2 adults but if we priced it up seperately we'd have to pay for 3 air fairs!!!
At the moment Thomson have the Hotel Bali with a free child all season so it's worth getting a price, although that is in Benalmadena!
The good thing about DIY is you can book the length of your holiday to suit yourself. Most tour operators either give you either 7 or 14 nights. I am booked up for next week for 5 nights in Fuengirola. Got the flights for 2 people from Glasgow to Malaga for £106 and accomodation for £80, much cheaper than a travel agent.
Best of luck

Alpharooms want £357.07 for 10 nts at El Puerto in Feb. I paid £351.00 with Wintersunshine holidays. This includes my 8% loyalty bonus. I find them constantly cheaper than any other on the Net.
£54.00 is a nice saving, That`ll pay for the vino in El Puerto.......
